Oregon--Are underage spouses allowed in bars?
I'm 21 and live in Oregon. My husband has not turned 21 yet. We have been told that if we bring our marriage certificate to a bar, my husband will be allowed to accompany me into the bar (but wouldn't be allowed to drink). Is this correct?
Answers:
Nope. Marital status doesn't matter. The age of 21 years is the ONLY thing they care about. I've been serving in Oregon for two years. I don't care if you're married. Not 21? You're not coming in.
I live in Oregon and I don't believe that is true. A person must be 21 to enter a bar.
I know in PA and in TX you have to be 18 to get into a bar but you cant drink until 21.
No. If you're under 21, you aren't allowed in, period. One bar might allow it to be nice, but they're opening themselves up to a lot of lawsuits and even jail time if they do.
No he will not be allowed in. Marriage does not negate state liquor laws.
I've never heard of such a law, but I am all the way on the other side of the country.
Coincidence: NJ and Oregon are the only states that don't allow self-serve for gas. Isn't it a royal pain when driving out of state? LOL
If you have to pick up your husband from middle school on your way to the bar, he might be too young.
