If getting an abortion becomes a crime! How much time should a woman spend in prison for that crime!?
It only makes sense that if abortion is to be a crime, some even say it is murder, that all involved in that crime should go to prison! How much time should the woman spend in prison for this crime? If the woman is a minor could or would they be tried as adults?
Answers:
She probably wouldn't make it to prison because she would die from hemorrhage or infection from an unsafe abortion. Outlawing abortion will lead us right back to the 50's when women were getting abortions in dirt hole building without the advantage of sterile technique. Unfortunately, the pro-lifers don't seem to recognize this side of the issue.
Won't happen
If its a crime then whos going to perfom the abortion? I think the person that performs it should be up for murder as well as the mother to be.
That's a good question and one that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.
Women will be forced to revert to the back alley abortions and there will be more deaths than just the innocent baby.
Won't happen. But I'd say for murder 10+ years and for minors, it depends on the minor and the situation.
I think given that it was legal beforehand any women who got them or doctors who performed them legally couldn't be charged with anything, they have laws against illegal abortions (not in a certified clinic) against those who perform them so those laws would probably stay on the books, for women who receive illegal abortions idk thats interesting and if roe v wade is ever overturned that will likely be part of the big debate.
It will never happen that someone will not be able to at least get an early term abortion. Lawmakers know that if they outlawed abortions completely, there would be many "coat hanger accidents" and that is the last problem anyone wants
Put her in for life... call it Murder 1 (or premeditated).
...and yes, try minors as adults- if their parents were involved, charge them too.
Death sentance just like the baby
How long should anyone who takes a life spend in prison? If a woman does not want children she should safeguard against it. There are better things available than abortion. If you kill, it takes away all of that persons life. A fair trade would be to take your liberties away until the day you die.
If abortion were to be outlawed, the same sentence as one who killed a child in a crib. If Scott Peterson can be sentenced for murdering his unborn child, so should those who have abortions.
It would solely depend on the law. If it's outlawed, you can not be just ignored for breaking that law.
Unfortunately abortion is not considered murder by law, it is only morally wrong. If it were to become a crime, the woman should have to go before a jury of her peers and be sentenced. It matters not how many days they sit in a jail cell here on earth.God will give them their just punishment for killing a life he has created.
A question to really ponder is . Why is everyone so quick to jump to save murderers on death row. but fight to give women the right to kill an innocent baby?
the person performing the deed should do more time than the woman.
It will not happen anytime soon. The babies silent screams get drowned out by the vocal pro-death-choice crowd.
This question makes me angry. I would say no time served just counselling. What about the man who rapes a person and she gets pregnant. It happens a lot and they do less time in prison than someone getting caught selling cannabis.
I agree with Cindy both the doc and the mother to be should be held accountable for their actions. As for the length of time, well think about it, its like taking an entire life time from your baby. This is a crime that can't even be paid for if they sentenced the accused to life in prison. If a minor was the accused, well she made an adult decision to take the life of a child so i believe they should be punished as adults. As for abortion is a crime, i believe to a certain extent it is. I was 100% against it but that was when i didn't even think about the reason for it being. Example, if a child to be born means he or she is going to have an entire life time of suffering and agony always at deaths door knocking, then he or she is better off not being born. But this decision should be left up to the mother and the father of the child. I think both should have play in this decision. If one disagrees then the other has no say because one has agreed to take the responsibilities for the child being.
I could go on for hours but i think you get my point hahaha. hope this helped.
