Is not guilty until prov-en innocence more apt?
why are you arrested if you are innocence? Why aren't you just asked to report to court? Why do you have to post your hard earned money for a bond, which in most cases you must go thur a bondman, because you can't afford the whole bond? If you are proven innocence, you get no part of that money back? Is this just blind justice? Isn't about time to remove the blind fold from the lady? she's had it on for hundreds of years.

Good points! And don't forget that often after you're found innocent, people still remember the accusation and the taint of that remains for a long time.
ive wandered this many times, i mean if im innocent than isnt the cops taking me against my will technically kidnapping
Because I dang sure don't want someone who may have killed my neighbors children and I witness it, with him taking notice, to be free.
Well, the police aren't allowed to arrest for no reason. They have to have enough evidence to obtain a warrent.
bond is a way to help insure you will be in court when you case comes up. Bond to much, then set in jail until your case comes before a judge. The choice is yours!!
How many people do you think would show up in court if there wasn't money riding on it. This is a person accused of committing a crime, of which there is sufficient evidence for them to believe they can convict. If you are innocent you get your bond back. As to the taint that was brought up in one of the answers, that's the presses fault, they print headlines when you are arrested and when you are acquitted it's on page 47 in small print.
