This is a question but also some advice here.?
If you are looking for a used car and you see a 1-800 number in the newspaper to check out repo. cars or cars taken by sheriff's department because of drugs, etc., DO NOT CALL THEM. I did this when we were looking for a car for my son- they have been taking $19.80 a month (and sometimes TWICE month out ever since)-I've cancelled it THREE times. They have almost $300.00 of our money now. We never even used the service except to look on-line ONCE and there wasn't anything there. IT IS A RIP OFF and now the bank can only go back 120 days. This place won't give me my money back. I have been fighting them and fighting them. QUESTION: If you have any other recourse (other than the bank/fraud going back 120 days, please let me know)...this sucks -- been ripped off and I'm mad! The ad for the used car business APPEARS to be a VERY good idea and it is not..I REPEAT IT IS NOT!! I realize this was a big mistake on my part -- any idea how I can fix it now? AND possibly get them in trouble?
Answers:
You can sue them for breach of contract for refusing to cancel your subscription, and for fraud. Get a lawyer.
Sadly it sounds like you will have to take them to small claims court.Sue them for the money they now have of yours and the court costs. You dont need a lawyer but make sure you have all of your documents and dont get long winded or emotional when stating your case.Good luck,if worse comes to worse, call Tom Artino,he is a national trouble shooter and maybe able to give you more advice, also Bill Handel,an attorney with a nationwide radio trouble shooting show.
