Should schools teach kids that "tattling" is good when they have information about a crime like vandalism?
Aren't we all sick of the punks who vandalize our public schools? We end up picking up the tab. Schools could offer a decent reward for info leading to an arrest, which might prevent future crimes and ultimately be cheaper than the loss of equipment and damage to classrooms. As adults, we're expected to report what we know...why are kids taught to "not tattle"? ...seems like aiding and abetting, to me.
Answers:
NO, NO, NO. Maybe that will work in Smallville, USA but in Jersey, Springfield, Boston, Holyoke, MA, NYC, L.A., D.C, Philly. Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport CT, pretty much any hood kids can't be taught to do that.
We have to teach our kids to not do that stuff but NEVER,, ever snitch. You can't be labeled as a RAT.
It's too dangerous and not all kids in all places can take that risk especially over something that doesn't directly affect them
Yes, they should be taught to report it to an adult when they've witnessed a crime or hear someone talking about a crime they committed.
Why not? They have the D.A.R.E. program in the schools, don't they? And isn't *that* like narcing? Encouraging kids to turn in their parents?
Keep your nose to yourself. Unless you know how to handle a certain situation, don't.
A lot of times all you're doing is stirring the pot.
By the way, where do you think drive-by shootings stemmed from? Getting kids to do a nosy adult's job.
Don't think a kid can't be targeted 'cos they can and *are*!
