When did california legalize cohabiting between a man and woman?

trying to find statistical info and fun factoids on cohabiting laws in the United States. beyond the fact that seven states still have anti-cohabiting laws.

Answers:
I don't know why people are talking about common law marriage. Your question concerns criminalization of cohabitation, and, anyway, there has never been any such thing as common law marriage in California.

My research would indicate that non-adulterous cohabition has never been a crime in California.

You can cohabit with anybody you want. Your question should have been when did California legalize common law marriage. I don't know. Sorry.
I did a lot of searching and couldn't seem to find anything. This was a very interesting question in that I didn't know there were still states out there that dictate who you can and cannot choose to live with, based on your marital status (or lack thereof). Wild! Good luck in your search!
When studying real estate. We were told that certain states were always common law that came from Europe. But some of these sites claim, only under certain circumstances. Which they contradict the existence of the beginning of our nation and it's history?
