How can i prove my innocence, im an emotional wreck?
in a last second panic 2 stop hubby being thrown over our home balcony, i poked a man in the bum to get him to release hubby. it was a year ago and my trial is nxt wk. since this attack i have been a mess and the doc has dosed me up on nerve tabs etc. my speach and memory are affected. i do have this as evidence 4 during the trial but i am so scared i will be put in prison. i have no record yet the attackers have over 40. how can i make jury see i am innocent?

sounds like self-defense, if you have a good attorney you shouldn't worry about a conviction, the attorney can make or break your situation. I'm surprised they pressed charges!

First off, in my opinion, you are most certainly in the right here! You were acting in defence of your husband, which is a natural reaction of anyone who cares about their spouse. As long as it wasn't pre-meditated(ie you didn't hide a knife in your pocket hours before for that very purpose) it should be seen as a perfectly reasonable thing to have done. You didn't use excessive force - you didn't put the knife in his throat, it was (by the sound of it) a tiny wound, no worse than he could have gotten on his own finger of he's been chopping veg! You have no record, which goes heavily in your favour, Make sure you have a least one reliable character witness who the judge will respect. The best of luck, & remember - there are folks out there who do far, far worse things than you did & they get off a couple of hours community service.
The person that was attacking your hubby was a violent, angry, criminal man, I'm sure that a woman prodding him in the bum with a knife in order to protect her husband is hardly an act of a crazed axe murderer. Let's hope that he's made to bend over to show the court his injuries. You could perhaps make a counter claim against this complete moron. Surprised that it's going to court, a waste of taxpayers money on his side.
Surely as you stopped your husband being thrown over the balcony he is your star witness to the fact that you acted in his defence and no criminal proceedings should have been brought against you. Having said that, we know what a stupid world we're in and how justice is no longer justice, but I'm sure everything will be OK.
