If a woman can marry, then divorce you after a few days, and take half your assets, does it make sense to marry
anymore? Hasn't marriage become outmoded if you lose half of your money and property for a few days that may not even be fun? Surely God did not foresee how men could be taken advantage of by a clever woman in the 21st century.
Answers:
It doesn't work that way. You don't get half after just a few days. The judge decides how much the wife gets. And it doesn't have to be half unless they've been married for a while(i.e. years) and she can show proof that she contributed to the household.
Yes because they can become very rich that way.
Sounds like a good plan to me. (But I'm one of those 21st century women)
Chalk that up to empowering women.
Let the thumbs down commence!
God has nothing to do with it.
love is all about trust, dont get seriously involved with someone you dont trust
and if you are stubborn and are adament about marrying her, make her sign a prenup if you arent trusting
Maybe it's you...
Either way - get a prenup if you're so worried about losing everything you have. If you got a woman with a head on her shoulders in the first place she wouldn't be coming after you for $$
Stop looking for dependent women who make less than you
Thats why we have prenups
I find I have more assets, education and earning potential than men. I would worry about the reverse! The clever woman is the one today who has the worries.
because not all of us think as negatively as you do.. my parents have been happily married for over 35years.. my grandparents like 50years or so.. and I hope me and my husbands marriage will be the same.. I dont set out with marriage thinking "will this person take me for a ride or not".. You sound like someone from Hollywood with all those prenups...
Do what all the men in my family have been doing 4 years .lick 'em below the belt, pay for nipple piercings, take 'em to Burger King once a week, and then dump them.

A smart man would have a pre -nup to prevent that. And a smart woman would know that and wouldn't bother trying to roll him for half of what he has.
When money is involved is not the time to be stupid.
Protip: Don't get married after knowing someone for a week.
If you're going to make such a long-term commitment (don't forget, folks, marriage is supposed to be until death does he/she get), have a nice, long, healthy engagement.
Few years?
If she loves you, she'll stick around.
If she's trying to gold-dig, she'll get fed up and try to find an easier mark.
If you're talking about community property, that applies to the property you each and both obtain after the marriage. What was yours before the marriage is still yours, what was hers is still hers.
A few days? I believe it would be very hard for anyone to take half of someones belongings if married for such a short time.
I believe many divorce these days because they do not want to put forth the effort it takes to make a relationship work.
Nope, doesn't ,make any sense.. and remember a man can do the same.. it is kind of like.. if a man can get a woman pregnant then leave.. you know..
its not the woman..its lawyers...millions of them..and they all need an income
And my poor, old, gray-haired mother wonders why I haven't remarried after my marital breakup years ago.
If a man is that stupid it is unlikely that half his assets will exceed $5.00.
