Can i resign when on suspension and very likely to be sacked?

Answers:
i agree with the previous answer. don't quit, you can't get unemployment if you do. ride it out until they can you or you find something else.

yes but you may have a problem getting unemployment benifits. ask to be laid off
why not just stay and drive them nuts
Hi, Yes you can but the law now has changed, if you are sacked or resign you don't get any benefit's for 12 weeks.
By all means get advice on benefits before you do anything.

On the matter of resignation, you may of course resign. but your employer is under no obligation to accept your resignation and may go ahead with disciplinary action and dismiss you in absentia should you choose not to attend.

This is unusual but could happen. It seems if you are sure you are going to be dismissed, you might try negotiating resigning and asking your employer for a neutral reference.
Yes, you are free to resign at any time. In fact this would save the employer some effort in having you eradicated.
It makes no different if you resign or you are sacked for doing something wrong, the benefits office or what ever they call them selves these days will treat both reasons the same you put yourself out of work due to your actions, so if you've done whatever they are accusing you of get another job and start again a wiser person, it will be easier to get a job if you leave than if your sacked, if the case against you is assigned as proved in a few months time you will have had time to prove your worth with the new company before it happens and they might over look any indiscretions.
Wait, if you make yourself unemployed you will suffer delays in job seekers allowance and other benefits.
Anyway what if their dismissal of you is unfair? You have a better case if you wait for the outcome, after all if you are suspended it is likely to be on full pay.
Take the time to tidy your CV and look up some employment agencies or re training options.
