Continuation of yesterday's question. The guy who's stealing my friend's furniture?

We went over to his appartment with 2 police officers, her mom, and her step-dad. Her stuff was there so he lied about selling it. He told the cops that the mom gave him the stuff, which is an obvious lie. One cop went in with him for 10 minutes and, when he came out, said the guy wants 8 days. We have a feeling that he's going to try to do something fishy. Do you have any advice for us? They wouldn't let us take pictures.

all i can see him doing is trying to get away if he did it

i say tell the police to make sure he doesent run cuz if he does he could get to mexico and wait for the law of statutes to pass and then get off with $5000 free
