Help!!!!!!!... is this a trcik??

well my mom got hurt in her job so she sued the company to get money. Well we were at petsmart and this guy just comes up and talks to me then my mom comes and he offers her a job at petsmart. he gave my mom his number and my mom hers. Then my mom started thinking what if its the insurance company ( like our deffendents you know) because our lawyer said that they were going to be spying on us so idk if its like the deffendents lawyer or is it like a real job. He called us today and we have a job interview this thursday is it a scam i mean its weird this guy suddenly comes up to you and offers you a job what do you guys think? the job is for bilingual people to work as a translater

Answers:
I wouldn't trust it. First off places don't walk up to customers and ask them if they'd like a job. So I would definately be weary that this was in fact a scam.
Don't take the bait. They are testing to see that if your mom is well enough to work there, then why do they need to pay her any settlement money

Wall'o'text
That's weird - I would call your mom's lawyer and ask them.
NO DONT DO IT ITS A TRICK!!!!!!!!!...
Yes it's a scam!! If he doesn't work at Pet Smart then I would definately say you've been set up!! Don't go to the interview! GL
don't take the job is my opinion.
Depends on if she is an ambulance chaser. No trick...I am sure the interview is legit. If it comes out why she left her last job for petty reasons Pet Smart should kick her to the curb
Is your mother scamming the insurance company? While this could be a set-up, it may not be. I guess if whatever your mother is claiming has happened, then she should have NOTHING to worry about; however insurance companies are FAR from completely stupid. Many insurance companies contract with very competent investigators that make their money on exposing insurance fraud.

If your mother is above board. then she should have nothing to worry about.

I wish you well!
Tell the lawyer RIGHT away. Do NOT call that number just give it to the lawyer!!!!!!!!... Don't fall into the trap.

IT IS a trick!!
You're mom can still talk right? If the job requires just talking that should be fine.

She got hurt physically. Thus she cannot work in a very physically intense environment, however; she can still do other jobs such as a translator. Provided that the job only requires her to talk and it doesn't affect her physical well being.

This means that your mom should be fine as a translator since she is not doing physical labour. The insurance company would be glad if your mom can actually perform other jobs.
im a bit confused. is the job offer a translator or a job at petsmart? either way its definatly fishy. i honestly have never heard of somebody randomly going up to people and offering them jobs. im not saying whether or not to take the offer... but i would ask your lawyer what they think. but i also dont know how offering ur mom a job would help the other peoples case. so im not sure. im thinking just ask your lawyer what they think... and maybe hope that somebody more helpful than me answers ur question. lol. sorry if that didnt help at all.. but goodluck on ur case.
how can he offer a job if he doesn't work there..call Petsmart and ask for the manager, ask if he knows anything about the job offer and if someone has the authority to offer jobs @ any Petsmart..don't tell him your mom got hurt on the job..or any of the other details. let your lawyer know...sounds fishy to me..good luck..
As long as the job your mom would be doing has nothing to do with whatever disability she has from her other job, then she has nothing to worry about. However, if she is suing because of a back injury and then takes a job in the stock room then there would be an issue. The other issue would be if your mom is trying to claim she can't work at all.

The fact that you are hurt and can't do a certain type of work does not preclude you from doing some other kind of work.

That being said, I would be a bit suspicious about this situation. You said you were in PetSmart and the guy offered her a job at PetSmart, but does not work for PetSmart. That sounds suspicious. Unless he works for some other company that was hired by PetSmart to find a bilingual person.
If he and your mom "just met there" , I`d say it`s DEFINITELY a setup ! DON`T respond to any job offer until the case is settled . Don`t phone him or respond to his calls ! If he calls , tell your mom to say "sorry , I`m not in any physical condition to work ..... goodbye " ....... and DON`T GO to the "interview" . You`ll be on hidden camera !
Oh come on!! How could some random stranger who does not work for petsmart in anyway just come up and offer some one a job working there? This is obviously a trick.
The trick is in claiming disability when in fact she is able to work. If she can get a job, then she should. BTW, one of the ways a defendant will try to lessen the damages is to show that the person is voluntarily remaining unemployed. They do this by showing that she was offered a job and didn't take it. So, if it is legit and she gets a job, that is great. if if is just seeing if she is willing, then following through is also great. If is it designed to see if she is really disabled, if she tells the truth about everything then it can't hurt her.
I wouldnt take the job, it sounds like a scam to me. My fiances brother got hurt on his job, cut his hand really bad and was ordered not to work. He was collecting money from workmens comp. and was then trying to sue. As soon as he got a lawyer, they stopped sending him his money and said he was not titled to it anymore. But, because he was sueing he couldnt get a job that was labor like, nothing to do with using that hand otherwise his case would basically fall apart and he would get nothing once it went to court. The other people started to spy on him, even parked out in front of my home because they thought my fiance was his brother. They even followed my fiance to work thinking it was his brother. I wouldnt do it, you should have your mom get a lawyer if she doesnt already have one and talk to him about it first. He would let you know what was best. But to me, it seems a little weird that he would just come up to you out of no where and offer a job.
So, is your mom scamming the company where she got hurt? Is she claiming she can't work any more? If so, she should go to the job interview -- and also drop the lawsuit because it's wrong to sue them if she's isn't really hurt enough not to work.

If she's not scamming the company, and she's not saying that she can't work, then why would the insurance company want to offer her a job to spy on her? She's got nothing to hide. She should go to the interview and get a job.

If you think it's suspicious that someone offered her an interview at Petsmart, well, that's not so strange. Was she speaking her second language? If so, he probably overheard her. It's hard to find good help these days. The worse that can happen is she decides she doesn't want the job.
it is most strange that someone would engage you in conversation and offer someone a job. i would be very suspicious as all company have hiring procedures they must follow.

i would talk with my lawyer and listen to his advise. this is what he is paid to do.

is your mom attractive? he could be using this as a ploy to meet with her and have nothing to do with the suit. just a thought, but it is strange either way.
