Why don't they take the alcohol advertising off of everything?

just like they did tabacco because drunk drivers kill alot too.

Answers:
It's not the alcohol that kills people, it's the poor judgement of people consuming the alcohol that kills people. There are a lot of people in this country that enjoy having a toddy or two but are responsible about it and it's about time we hold those accountable who are NOT responsible. You cannot compare Tobacco with alcohol, tobacco has been proven harmful to you, whereas alcohol, in the case of wine and beer, has been proven to be actually good for you, IN MODERATION, and key word is moderation. Stop trying to put the blame on the people who make and provide the product, next you will ask that all advertising be taken off for automobiles because they kill too many people also.

No, thanks.
Sugar will kill you too...and water will kill you if you drink enough of it, or fall face down in it...eat a couple bottles of aspirin and that will kill you...cars can run you or someone else over...should we stop advertising everything that, when misused, can kill you?

And JS--I am for tobacco advertising, so I am not hypocritical in the least...I think if its legal it should be legal to advertise.
Too much big money!

I always wondered why they don't advertise it a lot more. I miss drunk/blackout driving. What I can remember of it. I belong to DAMM. Drunks Against Mad Motha's! By the way I am THE ALL AMERICAN!!
Because alcohol lobbyists in Washington have a great deal of influence over Congress & alcohol doesn't cause lung cancer whjich kills tens of 1000s more than drunk drivers.
To the poster above me, makrol..whatever. Why should we allow alcohol advertising and not tobacco? The argument for not allowing tobacco ads is that it kills. So do a lot of things. I agree, but you took the answer in the wrong direction. Surely you aren't so blind as to miss the hypocrisy?
Freedom of speech. I don't smoke tobacco, but I do realize that banning tobacco ads was an evil violation of our first amendment rights. Seems like not many people believe in freedom these days.
All about the $$ signs...
better yet why don't they make alcohol ILLEGAL if they like to make marijuana illegal.

Alcohol does INFINITILY more damage than marijuana yet the government demonizes weed.

I don't even smoke but why is that?
Because the liberals think that people don't make their own choice so they eliminated the advertising so we wont be influenced to drink.
Money
The difference is -- that alcohol can be used responsibly. You can have a glass of wine at a meal, and that is beneficial to your body. Smoking can't say that.

The problem with drinking and driving isn't the fact that they took one drink, it is that they didn't stop drinking or stop driving -- the same issue could come about from someone who took sleeping pills, allergy medication, etc. The problem isn't the substance -- it is the behavior. And the behavior is already banned.
Because it is a legal substance. Just like Coke, Big Mac, and tobacco. Keep the Gov out!
Someday, I hope! Someone like you needs to write-it up and take it to their reps. of your county/state. Have it written into law. No more billboard alcohol advertising.
but then they would not get anyone to go to war , no war no military jobs... and very little crime at home..this can't be...alcohol brings false courage to help fight the war and blinds you to it.how dull it would be.go back to being food gatherers .then we would fight over that.humans are always looking for something more..hunger takes many forms....bye
