Is there a site where I can look up gun laws from state to state, we had to wait 3 days for an application...?
to clear when we bought a new gun, just like 4 years ago, same for a used gun. Even when you pawn your own gun, you have to wait for your application to clear before they will release the gun to you. You fill out an application, the pawn shop makes a phone call and you're either cleared on the spot, or it can take as much as 3 days to clear.
There is a man selling all types of rifles and hand guns at our local, very rural flea market, (in Idaho) I asked him if it was even legal to sell guns like that, what happened to the law in our state requiring a review period? He said; "Oh that stupid law was back during the Clinton administration." I saw a sign at Walmart just a few months ago, in the gun section, stating that you had to wait for your SS# to clear on a gun purchase, before you can take it home. I always thought it was to keep dangerous people from being able to walk into a store, and walk right out with a gun and amno. So I was disturbed to see him selling guns like that..

here in the UK we don't have this problem unless you join a gun club or register with the police to get a shotgun licence and keep it in a lock cupboard your gun would be illegal
I think you are right to be concerned laws on selling guns are in place to protect you I would have zero tolerance on gun crime. Violence of any kind should carry an automatic jail sentence
wow that sounds unsafe at best....I would do a web search on your state laws, and even with that I would call the local police and let them know...if he is by passing that rule then maybe he is also by passing the age limits which I am SURE they would be interested in.

Why do you need a gun anyway?
You can see how NOT free the USA has become. Whenever you need permission, a permit or a license that means you do not have the freedom to do whatever is covered, in this case, have a gun.
The govt put this law into effect so they would have the last say on who buys guns, meaning who owns a gun. Now the govt KNOWS where most of the guns are, and why do they need to know that?
I don't know too much about this issue but I do know that the 3 day thing is waved for certain venues such as gun shows etc. so it
might be waved in the case of the swap meet. Check with your local police.

BTW, as far as I'm concerned, until the cities and towns get some decent behavior from the local boys, every woman ought to carry a loaded 38 or 44 magnum and empty it on any dummy who would assault her.
