i have been divorced about three years and i have primary custody of my 7 /12 year old son.when my son is in his mom's custody she has chosen to have her new boyfriend to care for our son while she is working on the weekend.so what are my rights reguarding background information for this unknown individual as my ex-wife goes through boyfriends like my son goes through a pair of shoes???

Answers:
deep down it sounds like you are jealous of your ex wife's new boyfriend (or that she has another man, and especially this guy is taking care of your kid). ( i can spot your jealousy when you said "as my ex-wife goes through boyfriends like my son goes through a pair of shoes") but u know what, i didnt have a babysitter when i was taht age, in fact i was home alone since i was 5. i think kids in this country are spoiled rottten. but to really answer your question, you gota get his full name and date of birth to do a background check on him. you can find those on the internet easily but u wil have to pay a fee for it.

1) Ask a lawyer or child advocacy group what your rights are.
2) Hire a private detective.
wow as a single parent myself u have every right to bring this up to her...if she does not help ..use your custody papers.and get it ammended..or u can get their name and use online background checks which u have to pay for.

You will likely need to go back to a lawyer. Usually visitation agreements are set there. If she has full, unsupervised visitation rights, I doubt that there is much you could do, unless your son mentions that he is being abused, or that they are doing drugs, or something.

But for God's sake, don't force your son to say things that aren't true. For all we know, he may be perfectly well taken care of.

If you suspect your child is in danger, your lawyer has the right to ask for supervised visitation, through an agreed upon party...the bf wouldn't count.

However, if no harm is coming to the kid, I don't think you could do much except hire a PI to check into it. The police won't have anything to do with this situation...and I don't think you can just get random background checks on people.I guess I could be wrong there.
