Vouccher and parental choice schemes?

what are they?

Answers:
I don't know about any "schemes" but vouchers usually refer to allowing parents to get a voucher which can be used to allow a kid to go to public school with no extra charge, as always OR to apply to private school. So if I wanted to send a child to a school with a $1000 tuition (just making up easy numbers) I could use my $750 voucher and only owe the school $250. This would enable middle class parents to send their kids to better schools. Paying $250 would be a lot more affordable than $1000!

Not that it would be that easy. It costs MUCH more to educate special needs kids, like my autistic niece. Would she recieve the same voucher as others? If not, how would one determine the value of her voucher.

It's complicated but an idea worth exploring.

But - as with any government program - you have to watch out for corruption. But I could tell you a few stories about corruption in the public schools right now!
