What is the difference between a legal aid and a lawyer?

Answers:
Legal Aid is a group of Attorneys who do low cost or free legal assistance for folks who are unable topay for a private attorney. Sometimes the quality of their work is not as good as the high priced attorneys but in most cases, it is enough to get justice for those who need it.

Legal aid is a government paid law office that gives free legal advice via lawyers to low income people for certain types of cases. Some legal aid offices also recruit private lawyers who agree to take a case or two a year for free to give back to the community on cases that their office can't handle.

A degree and how much money clients must pay.
Legal aid is normally a group of people dedicated to assisting low income people with legal problems. I think what you mean is what is the difference between a paralegal and a lawyer.

A paralegal has a degree in paralegal studies, some even have a law degree but have not taken or passed the State Bar Exam.

A lawyer has a law degree and has passed the State Bar, he is then licensed to practice law in the state in which he took the State Bar.

Paralegals can do paperwork and a lot of the things that a lawyer can do but they can (should) not give legal advice nor can they represent a person in court.
