Share your funny wrongfully accused shoplifting stories! Mines funny?
I was in a store (like wal-mart) and I pulled out a chapstick from my bag, put some on and put it back into my bag. Later on a sales clerk approached me and asked me to come to the office. This fat guy said we believe you have shoplifted a lipstick from our store. I said no I didnt and he said okay and he showed me a tape of me putting on my chapstick and putting it back into my bag. I pulled out the chapstick and showed it to him...but he didnt believe that was the item stolen. He said he needed to search my bag. I told him I would prefer if a women did (I had tampons and a pair of my underware in my bag) after wating 10 minutes for a lady to come to the office she looked though the bag and said the chapstick looked like the item I had stolen...I told them that was my chapstick. I then had to wait 30 minutes for the store people to search their item stock to confirm that they didnt sell that type of chapstick. It was funny watching the fat guy attempt to appolagize... your stories?

You obviously did nothing illegal, but I always refrain from taking things in and out of my pockets or bag when I'm in a store. It's easy to see how that can cause such misunderstandings. You're lucky, though. Not too long ago some guy in Texas was tackled and accidentally killed by a couple of Walmart security guards because they thought he stole a package of diapers. Turned out the diapers were actually his, and now Walmart's facing one huge lawsuit from his family.
