Question about military leave?
here it goes my brother is in the marines ( 8yrs)and he does recruiting duty. Yesterday our 11yr old 1st cousin dies. I called his wife and told her to have my brother call or to give my his gov phone #. She FREAKED! She said no that the gov would not allow that one phone call from a civilian for that. She also said that the marines would not allow leave time just one day off of work for my brother to attend the funeral ! she also said that any day off has to go through the red cross ( although he does not need the money from them cause the funeral is local). I am so aggravated and am not sure how to respond. My brother has not called me back yet but I am curious to know is this military action true? please help me understand. Thank you so much :)

That sounds too ridiculous. If he is a recruiter his number is published and public and probably splashed all over the place and does nothing but talk all day to civilians. Use the yellow pages. There can't be that many recruiters in town.
