Can I get my dad to pay??
My father never paid child support, but he never worked ethier. His mother set up a thing with her lawyer so that he could live off the intrest of what she had in the bank ($400,000) she knew he was a screw up. So Im wondering if I can get him to pay back support to me and my sister. We are in our 20's. Or can I get anything from the lawyer? And also hes in prison right now, where does his monthly check go now? He does have an ex wife but shes a nasty crack head so we dont speak,also she has a couple of his kids that are minors. Can anyone help with this mess?

You are pretty much out of luck on the back child support. Collecting it now will depend on you getting a court order (doubtful) and then being able to wring the money out of your dad. Getting any money out of the lawyers in this case is going to be impossible. I suggest you forget about it and move on with your lives.
hi no you are wasteing your time with it cause your gran mother did that for your father not you the only one that could of filed child support on your father was your mother but it is to late
No you cannot. Child support is paid to, and belongs to,the custodial parent..not the kids. Quite simply it is not your money to collect. If your mother wants to attempt to get back support, depending on which state you live in she might be able to. However, it will still not be your money. It will be the money that is owed to her for raising you and your sister. It's not money that you are entitled to.
If you are in your 20s, move on. He knows he did wrong and so does his mother and the fact she enabled him goes to show they all lack character and integrity.
Go on with your life and be the best you can be and raise above all this. Being vindictive is useless and will only take you down to his level. Stay out of the gutter and away from them and learn to let go of the past.
As adults, you and your sister need to move on with your lives. Your father is a loser and will probably always be.
His mother holds the purse strings and you can't sue her. He is in prison and wouldn't have an income anyway - so why would you want to sue him.
Get over it. Get jobs and build your own nestegg with your own money.
