Not reasonable bill from my doctor?

I got chiropractor treatment as a result of car accident. The chiropractor billed insurance for his services. However insurance didn’t pay his bills. The insurance company settles the claim with me case later on and didn’t inform me that they didn’t pay my medical bills. About one year later I got a bill from chiropractor for his services. I understand that now I am responsible to pay the bill because I settled the case with the insurance. However, the bill is outrages about $250 per 15 min massage. My question is how can I make the chiropractor to put reasonable rates for his services?

Answer:
Seems to me like the real issue is, why did it take so long for them to send you a bill? I would first check with the insurance company to make sure it's not something they already paid for, and the chiropractor is just trying to double-dip and get the money twice. Then call the doctor's office, and find out why it took so long after your treatment for them to bill you for the service. In most states, you can only sue for money owed up to 2 years after the money became owed -- i.e., if they treated you more than a year ago and are just trying now to get paid for it, they don't have a chance. In my experience you insurance company only has to pay you and so they pay you your money and they expect you to pay the doctor.
If you had a lawyer he would have taken his cut and should have told you that you were responcable for your doctor bills from the rest.
That's the way my brothers lawyer told him.
