Perjury and false statements?

SO I have myself a predicament. Does anyone know the NYS law about perjury and false staments. I filed a police report against my bf saying he broke into our house. He climbed through a window to get in one night because I wasnt home. His name isn't on the lease nor does he have keys so they charged him with burglary. I was summoned to court and testified under oath for the DA. But this really is more than it needs to be, so I called the DA and told her I lied and wanted take back my statment. She said it was Perjury and I would be charged accordingly for that and false statements. Anybody have any clue as to what can happen? Thank you.

Answers:
If you're charged under these circumstances, you'd more likely be charged with filing a false report. However, rather than seek legal advice on Yahoo, before making any further statement about the case or the issue to anyone, including the DA, you should contact an attorney in your area who practices criminal law.

Perjury is a felony. You can do jail time.
