What can i do about it?

someone online that i sold an item too is claiming they never recieved the item!! i know i sent it but unfortuntely i was in a rush and dont have any proof that i sent it. sadly.he paid me via offical check and i cashed it at my bank it no my fault if it got lost what can i do? hes threatening me now with all kinds of things, its like i have offered him a refund in instalements sincei m really broke..where do i stand?

Sounds really bad, but either you have to get proof that you sent it, Refund the money in full, or resend another one! He has proof of payment and you dont have proof it was sent.. He'll win if he takes it to courts!


If you went through Ebay or a similar service, check their "Terms of Service" agreement to see if you as seller are required to refund the money, or if it is "buyer beware."

Otherwise, you should show good faith and return his money. True, it isn't your fault the item got lost, but it isn't his either, so he shouldn't have to suffer for it. Return the money and ask him to contact you if the item ever arrives. This is one of the hazards of doing business, and your fault for being in too much of a rush to secure trackable delivery. Learn your lesson for next time.
