Your thoughts on the laws, awareness, taxes, health and human rights...
Answers:
Outlawing certain acts only makes it worse. For some reason people are not paying attention to history. Prohibition is what helped start the mafia. Today dry counties have higher alcoholism rates than wet ones. Drugs now fund terror groups. Prostitution is illegal and millions are being trafficked for the sex trade. If it were legal it could be regulated and be safe for the women as well as the clients. Some people think the law can save us, it cannot. Only responsibility and reducing the government back to what it was created for can. That Role: To protect life, liberty and property, not to prevent crime through coercion, but to punish those who commit crimes.
Crime prevention through coercion is how one runs a prison not a free country.
Decriminalize and regulate majority of the drugs out there. Also, tax them heavily like alcohol and tobacco. By doing so it'll free up crowded prisons and turn huge profits.
Of course, it is none of my business what people do with their own bodies, so long as they don't harm others.
As for turning profits, there is no authority for the government to do so. They can only legitimately raise tax money to perform their legal duties. Any other taxes(sin taxes, etc.) are just stealing.
I think the world is going to hell fast enough without legal drugs.
Personally, it's low on my list of things that need to be done. But I think it should be legal.
Powers-that-be cannot afford to legalize it...
Marijuana will block us from our habits of slavery and they do not want that . . .
I think they should legalize it. Tax it like tobacco and leave the cigarette smokers alone for a while.
Actually, I think they should make ALL drugs legal, tax them all, have REAL "drug" stores where the junkies can get a cheap fix...and give them a place to shoot up and die.
Would save the taxpayers a LOT of money.
Well the law varies from state to state, but I am going to go ahead and talk about California, since that's what I know best...
County by county is slowly starting to eliminate smoking and the marijuana dispensaries. This is forcing all medical marijuana patients to find their prescription elsewhere. The last dispensary that they most recently shut down had a total net profit of 2.3 million in the past 6 months. Since when does the government NOT like its citizens spending money on recreational items? Can you imagine how much profit they could receive from taxing this ****!?!?!
My friend was in jail for a week and said that he had seen at least a dozen people in there that actually had a legit medical marijuana card but still got put in jail by local authority. These patients spent money to be properly certified and are trying their hardest to follow the law as much as possible, but somehow they get punished and taken away from their families...just to be locked up until their family can afford to come and pay the damn government even MORE money.
Keeping marijuana illegal is not helping out our country whatsoever. In fact, it is hurting us more than anything. It's about time for the government to admit they were wrong and that marijuana can actually be beneficial when smoked or consumed. Its just a matter of time before they get their slice of taxes out of the marijuana pie of life.
I think it should be decriminalized. It should still be illegal depending on circumstances, but not a 'criminal' or serious offence. Sort of like a misdomeanor or less serious offence. In fact if they treated it just like booze it would be great. You couldn't drink or take drugs in a public place, couldn't supply minors, couldn't partake while driving or having care and control of a motor vehicle, etc. It would have to be taxed and regulated like liquor (i.e.can't make your own booze or grow your own MJ) so would generate tax revenue and still be cheaper to have for your own use. Of course there would still be bootleggers for booze and MJ, but overall it would be safer and cheaper.
I am really sick of this argument. In a perfect world burn the crap in one day in an incinerator. I have seen to many friends and relatives destroy themselves using it. It usually makes people tired or wild. I think it depends what is mixed in with it. I still believe people usually go into worse drugs when they smoke dope. I think the government knows very well what they are doing. The know alchohol ruins families people puts our health care up etc. It's a money maker for them now don't kid yourself. I was in the emergency ward of the hospital recently. This girl (stripper) with her three stripper friends came in a wheel chair totally passed out her legs were lifeless dragging on the floor. She had on some goofy strippers outfit and a clear plastic bag. She was barely breathing. They took her to a room gave her something because she came too and was talking swearing etc. I know they gave her i.v. also. It is a waste of our health care plus I had to wait from 12:30 to 4:30 am to be seen. There were two other drunk crackheads covered in blood. A guy with punched out teeth a guy with a broken arm and a guy with a cut ear covered in blood. Another guy with a gashed ear with a guy waiting outside for him to get him back the cops were called. A young guy late 20's so drunk they had to i.v. him. list is endless. I have no respect for these people and it puts our health care up. So yah come on government add dope and heroin etc. to the list and kill off more. There is an area near me where the lake water surrounds a peninsula of land. No one is allowed to walk there yet it's just a field and years ago it was fine. If you try it the police come with their suv speakers and bright huge light and tell you to leave. I am wondering if the government is bringing drugs in via the ships.
