WHY did they let Michael Vick CHANGE his plea?

First he went into the courtroom and pleaded Not Guilty to dogfighting.
Then a few days later, the other 3 guys that were involved all pleaded guilty and said that Michael Vick was not only involved, but that he was RUNNING the operation.
This made it obvious that he is indeed guilty and that he is now "BUSTED".
So now, a few days after everyone knows that he did it, they are letting him change his plea to Guilty.

HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE?

Since when do people get to CHANGE their plea after new information surfaces that basically proves them guilty?

If I murdered someone, and the cops suspected me and arrested me, and then I go into court and plead Not Guilty, and then the next day they find the body in my house and the weapon with my prints on it, obviously I am guilty, but that doesnt mean I can just walk back into the court the next day and say "Oops I'd like to change my plea to Guilty now!" in a miserable attempt to get maybe 25 years jail instead of Life in prison.

I thought you weren't suppose to lie in court...so how is pleading not guilty one day and the other day you plead guilty and receive a lesser penalty, without a penalty.

the court room is a joke, the law system is a joke. Vick should at least get 5 years... at least.

Actually, you could go back and plead guilty. Happens all the time.
A person can change their plea if they are offered a plea bargain that they agree with. I am glad that he plead guilty. It saves money and resources not to have to have a trial for this idiot.
What would you prefer: to see the state forced to go thru the expense & difficulty of a trial when the accused wants to admit his guilt?
He knows he's not going to win anyway...why go through all the trouble when you could get it over with faster?
Dude, read a book or a newspaper.

A plea deal happens all the time. Even a human being murdered can be pled down to manslaughter or Murder 2.

It happens probably more often than a trial.

Many of us suspect that OJ killed his wife, if he had conspirators that pleaded guilty, don't you think he would have done the same, turned back around and plead guilty? Maybe Vick was hoping they would fight the charges too, but after they plead guilty, you simply have to haul them into court and ask them why they pleaded guilty, case closed.
Apparently when you are a big time football player.

What he did was disgusting and cruel.. his punishment should be that he is locked in a cage with about a dozen of those dogs he tortured.. see how well he comes out of it.

And for those who defend him.. they should be there too.
A person can change their plea at any point during a court preceding, provided the judge and prosecutor agree to the plea. After all, that is why they call it a plea BARGAIN.
It kinda happens every day. It would be hypocritical and illegal if they didn't allow Vick to do it.
You have the right to change your plea anytime as for vick he got a plea deal none of us average folk would get 6 months in fed spa and probation vick should along with his freinds get life in cleaning up and building animal shelters
Actually, you can change your plea anytime you want. It makes sense, because if the other three plead guilty, thier testimony coupled with any physical evidence would be more than enough for a conviction.

Pleading guilty is a good move on his part. In the court of public opinion he's already been found guilty, there is too much of a public outcry for him to be made an example of, he wouldn't get a fair trial. this saves everyone a whole lot of time.
