Drunk Driving accident?
I am 17-years-old and three months ago i was in a car accident involving a drunk driver. I was on my way home from work, and the drunk driver went through a stop sign, hit the car door on my side, and put my car head on into a telephone pole. My car was totaled. The accident was clearly his fault, and he was charged.. with driving witout a licensee, failure to yield a stop sign, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an injured accident.. he unfortunatly did not have insurance, so of course, my insurance took all the crap... i did have uninsured motorist however; anyway, i got money for a car already, and money to pay off all my medical bills and everything, but nothing for missing work or pain and suffering yet.. about what can i expect for pain and suffering? and who is going to be the one who sends me this money?

You are going to need a good solicitor and a series of medical checks. This can often draw out for years as there may be knock on effects such as complications, depression and all manner of things that happen a lot further down the line (a friend of mine developed arthritis - age 18- within 2 years of his accident). They won't pay out until they're sure that the matter is ended although your solicitor may be able to negotiate an interim payment for you.
Good Luck
you have to sue for that
you need to talk to an attorney
You've got as much money as you are going to get.
money for pain and suffering? I be a millionaire then.
you need to take this guy to court for that. hell have to pay out of his drunken uninsured pockets.
sounds like the dudes a real asshole
thats terrible!! the only thing i can think of is to sue the person...they definitely deserve it!
good luck and i hope you are okay now.
if he didnt have car insurance you can sue the crap out of him. take him to court.
umm actually i think it should of been his insurance.. but since he didnt have any. um.. im thinking maybe u could like sue him or something.im not like positive but i think so.
I sure hope you are all better now ! Not sure about your missed wages or pain and suffering.
Just this evening a drunk driver without a license ran over a 4 yr old neighbor of mine, her name is Andrea if anyone would like to say a prayer for her and her family.
Its very easy, you grab a phone book, go to the yellow pages and look under attorneys, find a lawyer that spealizes in injuries, call him explain your case to him and he will take it from there.
There are a lot of lawyers out there who specialize in that. Don't use one of those scam artists on TV... try to get someone by asking for a referral from one of your parents business connections. You may have a civil lawsuit on your hands, and if the guy didn't have insurance, then that was stupid on his part because he will have damages docked out of his wages for a very long time if he loses. Sorry to hear about your accident.
Your not going to get it from the drunk guy. If he doesnt have car insurance its a safe bet he is a deadbeat. You could sue your insurance company, but that isnt going to help your rates any. Your kind of screwed.
Your own insurance should compensate you for pain and suffering if you had uninsured motorist coverage. If you don't think they are giving you a fair amount, get an attorney to negotiate with them.
A civil suit against the drunk. Check with a lawyer to see if it is feasable.
he may not have had insurance because nobody would insurance a nut without a license that dosnt stop him from having property or money in the bank.
