Is it legal to advertise my land at one price to Americans and 3000 times higher to foreigners?
I figure the price should be more for a foreigner.
Answer:
Yep, you can charge for your land whatever the market can stand. If they want ti bad enough, they will buy it. Isn't capitalism beautiful?
Umm ... I know there are laws against discrimination. I'm just not sure about the foreigner part ...
Not really. Here is what you can do, leave the price out of the ad. Judge what price you want to sell at when somebody shows some interest and tell them what you want for the property. Or you can just advertise the inflated price and "haggle" with Americans (somehow they are able to talk you down to a reasonable price).
Don't let your "American/foreign" instincts get the better of you. Sometimes the market is so flooded that you would be foolish to quibble over the nationality of the buyer.
if you have to ask,.then you already know the answer...
NO! (in case you thick as a brick)
you'll wind up with a lawsuit bigger than the property your trying to sell...to whomever you DONT sell it to.
be smart.set your price for what its really worth and leave it there.
I thank you for your Patriotism, Sir.
Foreigners just mean the Southern brown ones though right. I mean hey if a European potato farmer wants the land.give him a break and sell it at the right price. I guarantee he will learn the language and assimilate .
I know national origin is one of the categories protected against discrimination. But I can't recall a case of someone explicitly making this kind of discrimination.
Why in the world would you want to.
You would let your anti-foreigner animus reduce your profit?
What are you some kind of idealist for xenophobia?
