Do you think you could go a day with only using things that were "Made in the USA?
Answers:
Yes. Parts of my body count too?
The problem is, most things made in America are assembled using parts made somewhere else.
However, that said, if you only wear American made clothes made out of American grown cotton, use the roads, breath the air, and eat locally grown food you're in for a day and happen to be in America you'll survive.
yes, nothing is made here anymore.
We do that now.
I have no idea -- it's not easy to identify where things are made. And even a label that something is made in the US might mean only that the parts (made in other countries) were assembled here.
The majority of things I own weren't made in the US so it would be pretty difficult for me to do that. I do try to buy things made in the US and I'm even willing to pay more for them, but I don't find very many anymore that are made here.
I really don't think that is possible any more. Too much importing and manufacturing of low cost goods overseas took care of that years ago.
At this moment I cannot think of one thing I own that is made in the U.S.
today - no .. 20 years ago, absolutely.
no...first off you would never get to work unless you walked
no. no one could. the u.s. hasn't produced enough to sustain itself for at least 25 years. hence the massive trade deficit with china. even the big 3 u.s. auto makers can not put 'made in america' on their vehicles because so many of the components are made and assembled in mexico.
I would certainly like to try.
ha funny you would ask that.
Today i went to a charity event against sweatshops. we sold clothing made in sweatshops to poorer people and normal people, and the money was all donated an organization to help sweatshop worker get better wages, benefits, ect.
But seriously, we probably won't. Almost everything is made in sweatshops and if they were closed, a large portion of goods would be lost and tons of jobs too.
So, the answer is, no.
Check out the ICWI
I would say it depends on what i had to do that day, there are some things that we can make just fine here, but others we can't make worth crap, and have to import from other places.
