Should I dress up for trial if I'm a victum of an assault?
I have trial tomorrow... I'm a victum of an assualt and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions reguarding what I should wear...

Absolutely. Dress like you would for a job interview.
It shows respect for the court.
Something you would wear to work is fine.

Of course you should "dress up." The courts require that you dress in a manner appropriate of the dignity of a court. Show respect for yourself and for the system and dress appropriately.
You would not believe the number of times I see an alleged victim or anyone else walk in for a trial and they are dressed like a tramp or as if they just rolled out of bed.
If you are a female, wear a skirt if you have one and if you do not, wear respectable pants that do not appear to be as if they were painted on.make sure you can breath in your pants. Shirt should be tucked in. If the pants have belt loops, use it for goodness sake and have a belt on. Decent shoes. No sneakers. Limit the jewelry - the less the better. Do not bring cell phones into the courtroom if at all possible; if you do bring a cell phone, make sure it is turned off before you enter the courthouse. No odd hairstyles. No chewing of gum or candy. Do not wear clothing with a brand name blazened on it that it typical in hip-hop clothing.
When you are on the stand, address the judge as "your honor." When talking while on the stand, respond with spoken words and not a shake of the head: the court reporter cannot transcribe a shake of the head but she can type down words.
Understand before you walk into that courtroom that opposing counsel has done their homework and will have done a complete background check on you in an attempt to find something to discredit you or the testimony you give.
