daughter no matter what me and the courts had to say about it. Background info: We have been divorced a little over a year. He has no access rights to the child due to abandonment. We are in the state of Texas. The protective order written into the divorce decree states that he is not allowed to contact me by mail, telephone, or in person except in circumstances affecting the child's best interest. Can I report this violation? How does that work?

Yes, you need to report it. He is in violation of the protective order. If he can prove that you have allowed him to violate it without consequence, then it may affect how it will be treated if he does something damaging to you in the future. Since it is a protective order, get your paperwork in hand and call the police to get this reported. Then, contact him by letter and let him know that to discuss the arrangement with the daughter will require him to contact your lawyer.
Sorry girl, but you need to make sure that you notify the police and your lawyer. They can pull phone records etc...to prove that he called, sounds like this is going to get ugly. You may want to change your number if he doesn't know where you live & if he does, you may want to move. I am "assuming" he is a danger to your child, so you may need to get an additional restraining order etc... in order to protect your kids. I don't know how he would have gotten your number in the first place, but it sounds like you need to fix that. Good luck.
