Legal Question?

At what age can a juvenile be automatically transferred to adult court in Alabama if he or she commits a capital crime?

and...

At what age in Alabama is a youthful offender no longer considered a juvenile?

(I understand that I can find these anwsers through research. The problem with that at the moment is that I'm in the process of researching something else. So if the only answer you can give me is 'Look it up' please don't bother).

Answers:
There is not a anutomatic age at which an individual in Alabama gets tried as an adult. Often depends on the crime and how it was committed.. However a youthful offeneder is considered juvenile until he or she is 18 --- unless, of course, he or she commits a crime that transfers him or her to adult courlt. Basically it depends on the person, crime, and circumstances.

I don't believe there is a set answer. The severity of the crime would be one reason for a youth being tried as an adult.
