Our sewer/garbage company took double payments from us and won't credit the $65 back to us (cont.)?
They said we're paid up to the end of the year. This makes me mad, I want our money back. Is there anything we can do?
(We paid electronically and they contacted us to say we were in arrears, so we sent them a check because they hadn't taken a payment. Then the electronic payment went through later.)

It's not worth the effort so consider one less bill you'll have to pay this year.
Take them to small claims court.
I would go up the chain of command show proof of your payment. Despute it with your bank if you used a CC number. You didnt sign off on it.
I'm sorry that this happened to you. Unfotunately, you will just have to take the credit until the end of the year. Between now and then it would be a good idea to remove the electronic status so that this problem will not happen in the future. Just let this be a lesson so things like this don't happen with bigger electronic withdrawls. At least it was only $65.00. Put it into persepective and don't let your anger control your actions. It will all work out. The bright side is that you'll have $65 extra each month until you pay in 2008.
