Is it against the law in state of NC, for bill collectors to call you at work?
Answers:
I don't think it's against the law for them to call you once or twice, but any more than that consitutes harassment. At least, that's the law in Canada.
nope! they can call anywhere looking for you..they have a job like everyone else to do..law works for most creditors.. law protects you and them..but you have to read it
It's only against the law if you inform them in writing to no longer call you.
Its not against the law to call at work. However, once you or your employer tell them that the calls are no longer acceptable, they must cease their calling. To stop them, you would usually give them an additional number to call. Like, your cell phone.
No, not really!! Not just in NC. I think anywhere in the state they can. The bill collectors even can take your paycheck from your employment before you see them. Yes, answering their phone calls at home, or pay all your bills is the best to take care of these situations. Most of time they will work with you better too.
They can call you. You can tell them never to call you at work. If they can continue you may file a complaint. They cannot call you at work if you tell them not to.
Good answers except Hope was a little off. They cannot take your paycheck without first going to court and filing an order of garnishment.
