DVLA MEDICAL wat does this test entail. d.u.i driver. thanks?

my brother has to have medical to get licence back after driving under infl, does anyone know about the enzyms in the blood .how long does he have to stop drinking for before test.

Answer:
The medical is not to test for alcohol its just a general health check e.g. eye sight. blood pressure. diabetes. (which involves a urine sample) I know this from my own experience. I lost mine three times for the same. but to put your mind at rest the general rule is your body burns off fifty percent of the " LAST " drink you consumed in four hours so if you do the sums its about thirty two hours before you start to feel the benefits of being sober. i hope your brother beats the drink disease i know its hard but you must keep fighting it i do and always will, (i hope) ... good luck .

This varies from individual to individual. It might be a good idea for your brother to experiment using the kit suggested in this link to see how long alcohol remains in his system after he has stopped drinking for a short while. http://www.homehealth-uk.com/medical/alc...
how about he stays off the booze like normal people. drinking isnt a pre requisite!!

there are other things in life, if its that hard for him to not drink for a week i suggest aa and NOT applying for his licence
