I was wondering where could I write to the city or the goverment about drugtesting everyone in every bussiness
Is just sad how people, even famous people are just going down in a horrible way with drugs...the future should be something better if everywhere every bussiness every place from fast food place to restaurants to proffesional or even to own a place should start to require drug testing...
I do belive this needs alot of improvement.
I am a student and I wish I could be able to at least know a place where no one does that.
I want to find a way where they could actually open their eyes and I could see better improvements on this & require drug testing for everything!
Hopefully the future is better without dealing with stupid drug addicts and hire people who are professional and smart and not doing nothing stupid... like reading the news paper or magazines and drug addicts...even high schools! Is sad and I hope someone agrees and helps me to speak up on this..thanks!

I agree that drug addiction is a huge problem, but I would approach it in a different way.
First, I would like to see the government stay out of people's private businesses. I feel that business owners should be allowed to hire whomever they well please without government interference. Many places do currently do pre-employment drug screenings and that is their right. It's also their right to not do it if they choose...in my opinion.
Second, I say let the addicts work. Preventing drug addicts from obtaining employment isn't going to cure their addictions. More likely, they will turn to other means (crime, specifically) to support their drug addiction. Let's not forget that what they have is an addiction--it's less of a choice than we like to think. Some drugs are physically addicting, meaning that they actually change the chemical make up of the brain. It's not so simple to just stop.
Third, I feel that if we really want to do something about the drug problem in this country, we would offer free rehabilitation to anyone that wants it.
I agree that we could take more appropriate measures to prevent and cure people's addictions. And I hope we do.

sure, everyone needs to be drug tested, but it's tough to do.
If you are a business owner, you can pay to have employees tested on a pre-employment basis. You can also have them tested as a condition of continued employment. It is at your expense. However, if the employees are represented by a union and it is a matter subject to negotiation, you may not be able to test each and every employee. In that case, there must be a safety reason to test current employees. For example, crane operators and truck drivers could be tested but not necessarily clerical staff.
There was a United States Supreme Court case decided in 1995 about a school district having drug testing of student athletes. In June 2002 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that "testing students who participate in extracurricular activities is a reasonably effective means of addressing the School District's legitimate concerns in preventing, deterring, and detecting drug use." School districts now considering implementing student drug testing programs may benefit from the results of a recent survey of nine schools that have been pioneers in the field of student drug testing.
