Who can sue the ACLU?
Is it anybody? The intent is to sue them for misrepresentation. I never gave them permission to speak on my behalf on any subject at any time. And they still say they are speaking on behalf of all Americans...that is a lie!
Answers:
Anybody has the right to sue anyone in this great United States of America ... It doesn't mean it won't get thrown out before it ever hits the dockets. And by the way, good luck trying to represent yourself or finding a lawyer to represent you without an astronomical fee!
There is no justice ... it's all about who can line my pockets.
I applaud the effort. They are a sad organization in many things they do.
You might get them on ethics.
They tend to support every group except Americans, especially Christians
You do not have standing to sue. You are not a member, do not give them any money, and since they are not a public organization, do not use taxpayer money. Just as other organizations claiming to bring suits on behalf of families are organizations don't represent all families, the ACLU represents a certain segment of people, but more accurately, a set of beliefs.
Sorry, she's right, you don't have standing to sue.
When the ACLU argues in court, it's because they represent a party to the lawsuit, and on the couple of occasions that the ACLU lawyers have not been acting directly on someone's behalf, the suit has been tossed because they didn't have the standing to sue.
Just that you would even ask if anyone can sue an association like the ACLU shows just how little you know about the law. You wouldn't have standing to sue unless they actually harmed you, and while it appears that you're not too bright, that's probably not the ACLU's fault.
Misrepresentation wouldn't work, either, because making a statement like "we speak for all Americans" doesn't require specific authorization from every American.
Hey ... this is America. You can sue anyone at any time for anything (just about). Go ahead and sue, waste your time and money if you really don't have anything better to do. It'll get laughed out of court.
Take your best shot, but you could save the money and send it to the RNC.
Not only don't you have any standing to sue, you can' t prove damages either. No damages, no lawsuit.
