A Mexican American grandmother of 10 was shot 8 times by taggers when she tried to stop them from tagging a fence in her neighborhood in California. She was returning home from a fund raiser at her grandchildren's school. They could care less who they harm, even people of their own race. Nice huh?

Even worse is that if the shooters had been white, it would've been on national news as a hate crime.

Well...if banning guns will drop gun-related violence, can you explain why four cities in the United States that have banned personal ownership of firearms (New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, and San Francisco) account for 25% of the national gun-related violence in the United States?
And while you're at it...can you explain why the state of Utah has the laxest gun control laws and one of the lowest violent crime rates (general violent crime, not just gun-related) in the nation?

That is sad though that it's so easy to kill someone, especially an old lady who's of no harm to anyone. Hope they string those rotten kids up.

They are no different than many people from the United States. You seem to forget that we have many many criminals right here. And whites kill whites, Latinos kill Latinos, Italians kill Italians, Blacks kill Blacks and so on and so on and so on.
Broaden your perspective..life goes on. Killing goes on no matter who we are.
It would be unlikely to happen in the town I live in in the U.K. as guns.although a problem in inner cities are not nearly as big a problem as they are in the USA...it is a shame that they are legal and only when they are not will the US see a drop in gun crime...I can only say a prayer for her family.

Don't see why you are playing a race card here. Anyone of any race shooting anyone of any race for any reason is wrong, but you seem to be reading a lot into this that may not be a factor. Nor is it common behavior. And posting a link might be better than telling us your take on it.
It's certainly a sad thing to hear. However, it could happen in nearly any town. Why would anyone shoot a woman with no defense for trying to stop them from damaging her own property? It's stupid and ridiculous. I only pray that those murders will be caught and justice will prevail.

I was born in California,I grew up in L.A. and I was a police officer there. I moved away to raise my kids in a better place. A punk is a punk, no matter what race they are. Until someone gets a backbone and enforces the laws, removes the punks from society, it will only get worse. I have a good idea though, bring back the draft, get the punks off the street and into the military, teach them a trade while they serve, also have the judges do like they used too, for petty punk crimes, offer them two choices, a long stint in jail, or the military for 3 years.

Unfortunately it could happen anywhere. It is sad that some kids today have no regard for human life. They do not fear death, or God or authority of any kind. Yes I agree with you, this is very disturbing.
I hope they tag the white house so George Bush can be shot:) Seriously though..I think that crime everywhere has gotten out of control. Our irresponsible elected officials could care less about it as long as they keep getting their pockets greased by the AIPAC.
sassy k ...i love you...i really do...but the underlying premise of your question bolsters the dogma of the most ignorant among us. it fosters prejudice and fear when the illegal immigration issue screams for calm and reason. i could easily throw back at you the atrocity of the tim mc veigh bombing and say, "they could care less who they harm, even people of their own race".
