I have a question about school and the laws.?
I am moving from Indiana to Florida in two weeks, school started here today and in Florida on the 20th so I didnt want to enroll my children for 2 weeks then move them, does anyone know if there is anything wrong with my choice?Thank you
Answers:
There is nothing legally wrong with this and it's your choice as a parent.
Not really...except that they feel uncomfortable being the new kid and two weeks late starting
its fine with me
No problem at all
Indiana can't penalize you for truancy if you no longer live there
Florida schools are used to families who come and go during the year...
Less confusing for your kids during a long distance move..
Seems reasonable to me. Have you been in touch with the local school system in FL re your move?
i dont see the problem. Enroll them when you go to florida. It would be wrong to put your children (if young) in an environment for only two weeks then pull them out of it just when they were use to it.
good luck in Florida!
I think you choice is a good one just for two weeks
You are not breaking any laws that I know of, but you should inform the local school system that you are moving. That way they will know that your children are not truant.
