Vick why such a harsh sentence??
I've said I don't think Vick should get serious jail time for the dog-fighting thing and people say I'm a terrible person but I want to see if anyone agrees with my logic as to why.
What Vick did as far as I know is give a bunch of money to several of his buddies who started a large dog-fighting ring. As far as I know Vick didn't kill any dogs he just funded his friends who did some pretty messed up stuff and he will prob spend several years in federal pound me in the *** prison for it in the prime of his career.
Pac-man Jones gave a bunch of money to his friend to go to a vegas strip club with him and kill a man (man was paralyzed). And he's not going to see any jail time, but you don't see people crying about how evil pac-man jones is just vick. WTF did animals lives become more valuable to us that human beings? Ray Lewis same thing involved in a man getting killed. he's a role model on the cover of madden after the fact.
I ask 1 thing what if it were chicken fighting?

Plus his quote friends are apparently turning states evidence against him, and with friends like that, well you get the idea.
Vick is accused of killing several dogs. Right or wrong he will take a huge hit. As for Ray Lewis, he should be in prison now.
Vick will burn and he's brought it all on himself. It's the criminal element that has given professional sports the black eye that it has.

See here is the thing you said "as far as I know Vick didn't kill any dogs" at the same time many people (eye witnesses) have come forward saying he did kill the dogs. We the public don't know everything, we only know what the media tells us. Everyone only knows what they hear from the news. It is not for you to decide but for the courts.
I don't think he should go to prison but should be banned from professional sports for life. Dog fighting is illegal not only because is cruel but it also illegal because of the gambling involved. The man should've known better. Chicken fighting is also illegal in the United States.
People are funny about animals. A while back a group was protesting the fact a flock of ducks were being captured and removed from a local park. During their protest a homeless person was hit by a car in full view of these folks and none of these kind caring good Samaritans lifted a finger to help him.
Michael Vick funded the ring, provided the land, gave orders on how/when to kill the dogs (according to the indictment) and bet on the githst. Not to mention that he was involved in the interstate transport of animals used in fighting and benefitted financially from the that interstate transport and illegal dogfighting. Read the indictment if you want to know his exact involvement, which was not just giving guys some money. He is not going to jail (if convicted) for fighting dogs per se, but because he violated numerous federal laws in the process. Chances are that if this was just occurring on his farm in Virginia, there wouldn't be federal involvement (not that there wouldn't be a media frenzy) and he would not be in the position he is in. And chicken fighting is also illegal. Too bad that Michael Vick might be in jail during his "prime..." that's what happens when you make stupid choices.
All three Vick, Pac-Man, and Lewis should get something more cruel than jail. The reason people, in my opinion, are more outraged when an animal is involved; is because animals aren't "evil" whereas people can be, no one knows what the men Lewis and/or Pac-Man were like. They could have purposly pushed buttons, not saying outcome was right but animals are just that animals.
I would love to find a dog fighting ring, go there start sniping people there, then finish up close with handgun. To me Vick should be tossed in a cage with some vicous dogs and ripped to shreds....
EXTREME? He$$ Yeah it is, but scumbags doing that sort of thing may think twice afterwards.
Dumb, violent, savages should always get long sentences. Society is better off with people like this locked up on the farm.
