What's the statute of limitations for child molestation?
Answers:
I would hope never, but every state is different check with a lawyer.
Don't really know, but they are getting priests for acts they committed 20-30 years ago.
Not long enough
Usually from 6-8 years, depending on the state. The SOL for civil lawsuits is much longer, though, especially if they can prove fraud or conspiracy.
I would like to say NONE!, but probably be wrong!
There isn't one anymore, You have to report to the local authorities forever, wherever you go for the rest of your life for that or any other sex crime now days. There is also a no leniency rule for those types of crimes!!
Most child molestation is committed in secret. In my state, there is a special statute of limitations allowing the charged to be filed within 7 years of when the act is first reported or when the child turns 21 years old. Not every state has such a law.
