I've got a criminal record in my youth for possessing & supplying ecstasy. Would i be allowed into America?
During my youth many years ago, whilst at university I was arrested by the police and given a criminal record for possessing and supplying ecstasy. I was punished with community service of which I fully served. Now years later, I wish to visit a friend in New York from the UK for a 1 or 2 week holiday. I've heard rumours that with my drug related past, I will not be allowed into the country, even if it is for a short space of time. Is this true?
Please spare me any potential lecture about the dangers of ecstasy and flaunting the law. It was a huge mistake i made in my younger days
Answer:
Three arrogant portions of your statement make it clear that you didn't learn from your experience or take responsibility for your life afterwards. 1) "I was ... GIVEN a criminal record" [no one gave it to you, you earned it], 2) "please SPARE me any potential lecture" [in the same way you earned the criminal record, you earned the lecture and you earned being banned from entering the US; those are the consequences of your actions], and 3) "it was a huge MISTAKE I made in my younger days" [it is interesting how often people try to evade accountability for their bad choices in life by calling them mistakes and saying they happened a long time ago, even though they reveal a tendency toward self-aggrandizement that probably still exists].
well with a criminal record you can never get into america BUT if you are willing to take a chance if money is not an option for you (because you will loose your ticket money if you get deported ) you can try to make the trip and see if you encounter a lax lazy immigration official on both ends of the pond.
Offically, you are not exempt from the US visa waiver program as you have been convicted of criminal offence. the program is non specific as to whether this convition is spent or not.

probably not, maybe you should have thought of this before you did it. Didnt those posters of Leah Betts teach you anything? Young people have no respect for the law these days.
(im showing the same disregard for your request as you did for other peoples health when you were a drug dealer)
