Mike Vick brought this all on himself. Too much money in his hands and not enough common sense. He might try to put it all on hip-hop but no one said "Go out there and raise pit bulls for fighting with your $100,000,000+ contract.
That being said, as heinous as the crime is to me, he'll lose the balance of that 100 million since Atlanta is probably not going to carry him past 2007 or 2008 without performing in the games. Also, Nike and Reebok don't want to lose money on someone in violation of moral terpitude so say goodbye to that money.
There's a lot more venom being let out for Mike Vick's case because he's a celebrity. If Michael Vick was Mike Mayweather from the bad part of Newport News, it would have been barely a blip on the radar. He'll get a year, maybe 18 months in prison and then probably have to fight for a roster spot in Detroit or whatever team is hard up for a QB
People like d j who feels "the worthless negro thug should be killed by pitbulls" are completely out of line. Racism disguised as 'kindness to animals' whether from you or Sen. Robert Byrd is still racism.
I think he should be made to fight other jailmates and executed if he doesn't perform up to standards.

I would think so. Former Panther WR Rae Carruth didn't get off too light for murder.
This case shows how weak our legal system is. They say he will only get 1 year in prison and probably only serve 10 months. What a crock!! The maximum sentence for this crime is 5 years. If I were the prosecutor, I would have offered Vick a plea deal of 3 years. If he declined, I would have gone for the full 5 years with a conviction. Also, after pleading guilty to a felony, he should be banned from the NFL for life.

Vick will end up serving a brief prison sentence, because those are the guidelines that will tie the judge's hands: she will have a sense of justice, however, and will have Mr.Vick share a cell with a serial rapist called "Bubba-Sue", who, though he is 450lbs of pure muscle, & has viciously raped and eviscerated 13 teenage boys, has one redeeming feature.he loves puppy dogs.
