Why are there laws that exempt abortionists from law suits and prosecution for botched abortions?

Also, why are abortionists exempt from reporting suspected child abuse and molestation, when any other medical or mental health practitioner is required to report suspected child abuse and sexual molestation of a minor?

Answers:
Because abortion is highly contraversial. My great-aunt died several years ago while having an illegal abortion. She was so pretty, but not married when she became pregnant. She was my great-grandmothers twin sister.
I really wish abortions were legal then so she would lived many more years and I could have met her.

Because a botched abortion isn't child abuse or sexual molestation! And they usually don't ask who the father might be!

They are not exempt from the reporting laws in my state, NO ONE IS, including, and especially, Catholic priests! Our laws don't specify only professionals, it means EVERYONE!!

Who said they were protected from botched abortions. They would like to be exempt, like all other physicians, for their mistakes and bad judgment! There is no excuse for taking out the wrong kidney or cutting off the wrong leg!
It's just one more of those unanswerable questions surrounding abortion. I've been trying to find out why women aren't told previous to the procedure that there is a great likelyhood on down the road for a mental breakdown, suicide, unstable relationships, deep depression, inabiilty to find intamacy. I still can't find the answers because most facilities deny these things are turen. But, they are.
NO doctor can be criminally prosecuted, unless it can be shown that he was reckless or if he deliberately injured a patient. The nature of the surgery makes no difference in the matter. And I don't know of any law that exempts abortion doctors from a malpractice lawsuit if they make a mistake. Nor have I ever heard of abortion doctors being exempt from having to report suspected child abuse.
