Why is alcohol legal and not marijuana?
Alcohol kills many more people than marijuana does. Alcohol causes cerosos and has caused many drunk driving accidents. while marijuana may cause ling cancer but so do cigarettes. Most potheads i know wont leave the house muchless drive to cause an accident.

It would make sense to legalize & tax marijuana.
It would provide a uniform, unadulterated, safer susbstance.
It would decrease the illegal cash available to the drug pushers.
It would turn a social liability into an asset.
But who ever accused our government of having sense?
Social acceptance
Simple, society at large has determined that Alcohol is acceptable and marijuana is not.
Pot causes psychosis!
Not only that but you can use pot for a lot more uses too.
Clothes which last longer than cotton.
Fences
Ethanol
Furniture
Paper And many, many others!
But seriously that is the reason why it isn't legal...people in the 30s got scared that people would use/grow pot and such things as paper would lose out.

Alcohol got there first. And they DID try to make it illegal, and would try again if they thought it would work. But why give another vice to the public. The best thing to do is to decriminalize simple possession, so that honest kids aren't turned into criminals by an overly harsh justice system.
your so wrong about pot, it does kill people every year.Pot when done in excess can cause you to act like you would not normally would.
i think it is because it can be grown wild and they cant tax it as well.

thats true, i never got that...maybe its because u can have 3 beers and still be sober while you can have 3 puffs of weed and get completely wasted.
