Vick lied to his fans, his boss, and the NFL. Should they bar him from playing for life?
that little punk thug stood at a press conference and SWORE that he would clear his name at the november trial. That little hoodie told the NFL he had nothing to do with dog fighting. He lied right to goodells face. If he plays even 1 more snap int he NFL, i will boycott EVERY NFL team and team sponsor. How about you?

I would agree pretty much. The NFL would fall into the same trap as the NBA if Vick were to play again especially after what he did. Already the NBA has been given a bad rap due to its embrace of hip-hop culture and the recent betting scandal involving one of its officials.
It seems that virtually all the big stars in pro sports care more about money, fame and women than about family, athleticism, and the winning spirit. College sports seem more attractive for the moment because players at the college level tend to have more heart than pro players. There are a few gems that stand out in the NFL, though, but they are very hard to find especially when tabloids, paparazzi and the media nowadays tend to treat athletes the same way they do Paris Hilton. It's no wonder America is in trouble.
Therefore, a boycott of the NFL would pretty much send a message to league officials that once a player gets in their face, they're out.
It's not the dog fighting he has to worry about when it comes to the NFL. The gambling charges are the ones that could get him banned.
Only if illegals are barred for life and fully prosecuted for ****-fighting and dog fighting. This is all part of a subculture that has been an accepted form of behavior due to lack of prosecution.
Yea, and how many other athletes have lied to public, ohh probably all of them. If Roger Goodell wants to suspend him because he committed a felony thats fine, but banning him from the league is way to extreme.
And by the way, there is a huge difference between cockfighting, and dogfighting, namely the treatment of domestic poultry. I don't have time to go into the details, but if you want to know more email me.
Are you crazy? You would end his carreer and possibly his life for a lie? Tell me, you must never have lied in your entire life... right??
The punishment is way to severe, he should spend some community time picking up dog **** or somthing, not ruin his entire life over one lie and a couple of dogs.
The gambling involved will get him banned for life.
You are talking about the same NFL that keeps saying they don't think this one felon, sorry criminal, oops player will hurt the season.
He's one player and doesn't matter nearly as much as the NFL is making it out to be. Sports figures, no matter the color, have been letting us down for years. I quit watching baseball after the last strike and complaint that they didn't make enough money. I'm leaning the same way towards football. I'd rather see a college game most of the time anyway.
As if Bush, Connie and everyone in America is not lying everyday to try to clear their own butts...
Mike Vick has bad judgment which makes him a Bad NFL QB as well as a bad person. He's going to jail where he belongs.
Just because he is pleading guilty doesn't mean he lied. It doesn't even mean he's guilty. It just means he got a good deal for pleading it out and skipping a trial.
Also, to answer your more specific question, he likely will get banned from the NFL, and not because of going to jail, not because of lying, and not even because of dog fighting.
The NFL would be able to explain away every one of those things, but they can't explain the gambling part, and that G-word scares the NFL and the NBA (like the ref that was just busted) and other sports organizations more than just about anything else. THAT's what wakes the NFL commissioner up at 3 a.m. -- the public is used to athletes going to jail, fighting each other, being accused of everything from rape to murder to dog fighting, but when gambling comes into the picture, it starts to drive fans away. Vick is out, if you ask me.
they should ban the NFL, then maybe we can concentrate on real issues, and the players can pick fruit so we can eliminate the green cards.
