Where can I go for free legal help getting a divorce in Tennessee?

Answers:
There are many that will provide a free initial consultation. (linked below)
Joe McLerran, Attorney at Law ; David M. Waldrop; William G. Schwall.
You can also do a google search for "free consultation divorce in Tennessee"

If you and your husband have assets and its a matter of not being able to pay for a great attorney up front, go to a normal DIVORCE lawyer, tell him or her that and they will work w/ you to get paid at the end. If you and your soon to be ex- don't have anything financially to speak of, you can do it yourselves. Fill out the petition, he answers and they set a date. If it is an abusive situation, they can help you at a battered womens shelter. You can call the legal aid office in your city to see if they can help too. If they can they will do it for free.
