Would this be a good thing?
If muslim countries worked with the different factions in them to pass laws granting people the right to freely choose to live under sharia law or not, forbidding the forcing of people to live by it or not live by it, enabling people to freely advocate for and against it and getting those factions on each side of the issue to adhear respecting those rights? Would this help moderate and eventually resolve the conflict over this issue?
Answer:
yes but here on earth things don't work that way
it might be a good thing in our country but most countries don't offer freedom from religion so it would just be best to follow the laws of ur country and be happy that it aint worse
wouldnt that be like common sense though?
it probably would
but within that solution there would be more conflict
Yes.
The problem is, people pushing Sharia think it is the word of God, and therefore, logically, it's blasphemy to allow an alternative to the word of God. That's a big problem.
I mean, it's not just a Christian or a Jew saying "the Bible gives you all the rules you need for a good and holy life, please follow these rules." And it's not like a Muslim saying "the Koran gives you all the guidance you need to live a good and holy life, please follow the Koran."
Pushing Sharia means "follow these rules or we'll kick your butt." Not nice.
