Why are ferrets illegal in california?

i just am wondering.
it's not like they kill at the site of flesh...

Answers:
There is no scientific reason as to why they are. In 1933 ferrets were mistakenly put on the prohibited wildlife list when DF&G was formed. Other states made this mistake and over time, have rectified it by removing the Domestic Ferret from the wildlife list. Why California didnt, It pretty much boils down to the fact that they don’t want to admit they are wrong and they get a lot of money by being wrong.

Hey Patrick - how do we get money by being wrong ?
that's silly.

Ferrets are no different than foxes or raccoons as far as California is concerned.
You can't have wild animals as pets.
I don't think Patrick is even from California which means he has no idea what he's talking about.

California Dept of Fish and Game makes no distinction between domesticated ferrets and wild ferrets like a previous poster said. As to why they're still illegal here when they are legal in virtually every other state, I was told by a F&G Agent that we can thank the poultry industry here in California. Go figure..
