If I am a parent to a mentally ill child that is grown and not able to admit his self can I make that decision
I HAVE A SON WHO NEEDS HELP AND THEY WANT TAKE HIM IN HE IS NOT ABLE TO MAKE DECISIONS FOR HIS SELF HE IS 29 YEARS LOD AND NOT MARRIED CAN I MAKE THE DECISIONS FOR TO HELP HIM?

If you are in the US, then no, you can't. If he refuses to do what you tell him to, you would need a court order declaring him incompetent and declaring you his guardian.
It depends on the situation and what illness he has.
If he lets you sign a power of attorney, then yes, you can act on his behalf legally.
If not, you can have him committed if he is a threat to himself or others.
Since he is an adult you have a couple of options:
1. He gives you a medical power of attorney. Sounds like this won't work in this instance, just putting it out there.
2. Get a judge to grant you a medical power of attorney.
3. Get a doctor to commit him.
