Mlb.com question?

on mlb.com u can watch the games after there finished for free in 400k or 700k and i figured out u can record clips from the games if u use fraps and record 30 second segments is this illegal or ok and if it is illegal what is the punishment cause i would only be doing this for my own personal use not selling

it would be a copyright violation - if you don't show anybody else, you probably shouldn't have to worry to much, but technically it's a violation of the law.
