Packing.Org is a good resource but for some reason the site is not very up to date at the moment. However you should find a link to Georgia's website that deals with their firearms law. You will get official information about owning and purchasing there. You should also find information on carrying concealed and the use of lethal force.
Off the top of my head, I don't believe that Georgia has any particularly restrictive gun laws. To purchase a pistol you must be 21, to purchase a rifle or shotgun you must be 18.
You must also pass the NICS check which means you cannot be a convicted felon or convicted of breaking certain domestic abuse laws. You also cannot have a history of mental illness or of drug abuse.
Other than that I don't believe there are other restrictions, but again, check the states official web site to be sure.
